This video discusses the health control feature on Flex controlled vending machines. The health control feature of vending machines is an automatic shut-off control system that will disable vending whenever the temperature varies from the specified limits. If the machine begins an alarm shut off, the display lights will be turned off, and either the whole machine will be disabled or individual selections will be disabled based on the health safety settings.
Our flex controlled machines are equipped with Health Safety settings to make sure designated items in your machine are delivered at optimal temperature and your customers do not receive spoiled or rotten milk, sandwiches, fruit or other food.
Vending machines that supply perishables must maintain food at the right temperature. The health safety feature ensures that the temperature is less than 41 degrees Fahrenheit or 5 degrees Celsius. The feature shuts down the machine if the temperature exceeds this limit for more than 15 minutes. It can only be reset when the machine is opened.
The health safety feature is paused for 30 minutes when the machine is closed after loading supplies. This duration is to allow the vending machine to bring the temperature down to the allowed limit of 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Always ensure that the products are pre-chilled before loading and are transported in a temperature-controlled vehicle. This reduces the energy consumption of your machine and ensures that the products do not spoil easily.
During initial setup, the machine might take longer to reach the right operating temperature limits. You can check if the temperature is within the correct range by pressing the pound key.
This video explains how to turn on the Health Safety feature for individual selections.
